Throughout this class I have stepped into the world of digital photography. My first day I thought a good image came from the camera on my phone with decent lighting. I had no idea about composition, shutter speed, or aperture. As the class progressed through the first couple weeks I learned about my camera and the different features on it. Then I slowly started learning techniques I should be using to create a balanced image. My first week photo assignment I set my camera in auto and tried my best to capture personality of my horse. I didn't use many of the composition tools I know now and didn't edit it at all. My second photo was also in auto and didn't have the best quality. The exposure was low and the image looked sort of grainy. From the first two weeks I progressed as a photographer and started taking photos in manual. I also began my journey in the world of photoshop and started to edit my images for better quality. My last two weeks I really think I advanced as a photographer and created some good mages. In comparison to my first two weeks the quality is better and I used my photoshop skills to make the images really pop. I also took my photos in manual which I took as n achievement because it shows how I have grown. My last photo I edited to become a strong black and white image that catches viewers attention. My second to last photo I took using an interesting angle and changed the hue and saturation to make the color pop. In conclusion, I believe throughout the course of this class I have grown as a photographer. I have learned many new photoshop skills and shooting techniques to create great balanced images. I also have discovered a love for photography and will continue to learn about digital photography outside of the classroom. As I progressed through this class I also worked with photoshop. When I started I didn't even know where the move tool was. As the weeks went by I worked on many different assignments and learned more advanced skills.
The first weeks we did a pop art assignment which only involved a couple tools and not that much time. It was hard to do these assignments at the time because I didn't know much about photoshop. Then we did the car assignment which involved more tools and was pretty difficult for me. As the time went by and the more practice I did the assignments became easier. Some of my last photoshop tutorials were my favorite. They were way more difficult and used many different tools and layers to complete them. I worked with displacement maps and filters to create these images. In summary throughout this class I have advanced in my editing skills. I learned about many different features and tools to work with. I hope to continue to progress in learning about photoshop.

This assignment we were told to make 3 visual puns and put them together for fun pun Friday. I really enjoyed making the puns and it was pretty easy to do. I got to use creativity to try and make puns that weren't very common. I also worked with multiple layers and bringing in images and blending them together. Overall, very fun assignment that didn't take long.
Dash of Color: This assignment we took an image in black and white and used our history brush to bring back some of the color. I personally thought this assignment was pretty easy. I learned how to desaturate and image and how to use the history brush. I also worked with my selection tools. Floating Sphere: This assignment we took an image of a someone and put them onto a background, and created a sphere around them to give the effect of floating. This assignment was kind of difficult to do, but I figured it out after a couple of tries. I worked with selection tools, shapes, layers, filters, and opacity. This assignment showed me many new tools and was fun to do. This assignment was a little more difficult than the others because I had to use a displacement map. I worked with filter, a displacement map to create the water ripple effect, and Hue/Saturation to color the water. This assignment took some time but overall turned out great. Texture: This assignment I took an image of a man and added texture to his face. This assignment was pretty easy and had good directions to follow along with. I worked with a displace filter and a displacement map to add texture to a person's face in a photo. It was an easy assignment with great final results. Alien: This assignment we took an image of a man and made him look like an alien. This assignment should have been easy but the directions were very hard to follow making the assignment confusing. I worked with the clone stamp tool to erase the nose and the liquify tool to distort his facial features.
This photo assignment I decided to do black and white. I used some of the images I have taken in the past and also set up a still life of a game and turned it black and white. The only editing was changing the photos too black and white. I really enjoyed editing these photos and using different black and white tones. I also had fun using the skills from the pop of color tutorial to put a fun twist on the black and white images. Overall had a good time with this photo assignment.
For this weeks shooting assignment I decided to take pictures of nature. I thought it was great opportunity to capture the color of the changing leaves and use interesting angles. I cropped my image slightly to make it more centered and I adjusted the vibrance and exposure. I enjoyed taking these photos because I got to play around with different settings on my camera and different composition tools. I tried to use color, rule of thirds, and balance to create these images. It was a little challenging to get the right light and angles, but in the end I think my photos turned out okay. I really enjoyed using the sunset and reflections of my lake to get some interesting images.
For this assignment we were to take two images and add multiple versions of someone into the images. In this assignment we worked in photoshop with many new skills. One new thing I learned how to use was photo stack. I also worked with layer masking, selecting, and exposure. I really liked this assignment because I got to use creativity and make the scene fun. It was hard to work with layer masking and using black and white to conceal and reveal. Although I really enjoyed creating these images.
For this assignment I took photos of my yard for landscape. I have a very big yard and pond, so I thought it was a great place to take my photos. I edited my photos exposure, levels, and hue and saturation. I enjoyed taking these photos and trying to capture different lighting and balance of the images. It was kind of hard to take these pictures because it was raining, so finding the right lighting was difficult. I also played around with having foreground and using rule of thirds with the trees.
For this assignment we took a photograph of the school and changed the context of it. We were to use our imagination and creativity to change an everyday scene. I used a picture of the cafeteria and changed it into a graveyard. I really enjoyed doing this assignment. It was fun putting a creative twist on an ordinary scene, and making it look completely different. I worked in photoshop and learned how to use new skills. One thing I learned to work with was filters such as the clouds filter and how to use them over an image. I also worked with selecting and bringing in new images and how to compose them. The hardest thing for me in this assignment was blending the different backgrounds and adding in new images that blend in well. Overall a fun assignment!
This assignment I decided to do people. I was in Chicago with my friend for the weekend and took pictures trying to capture their personality and fun in the city. I edited the hue and saturation of the cotton candy to make it stand out more. I also darkened the background so the subject stood out more. I really enjoyed taking these photos. It was a fun challenge to find the right lighting and balance in the city. Also, incorporating color and personality to make the photos stand out was a challenge, but I think I did okay. In addition, I tried some staging and framing techniques using a pair of sunglasses which gave the portraits a different feel and look. Overall, I enjoyed taking these photographs and playing around with different compositions and tools we learned in class.
For this assignment we were asked to make 5 panoramic's using Photoshop. We worked with different tools in Photoshop to get the desired panoramic. In this assignment we worked using Photoshop and Photo-merge. We used the crop tool, exposure tool, and Photo-merge to make our panoramic. I liked making these because I have never made a pano before and it was really cool what photoshop could do with just a couple pictures.
